Personal Style Five: Texture

Texture makes clothing exciting, and can easily break up a dull look. I snagged this amazing sweater from my Father when it no longer fit him, an absolute oldie but goodie. I found these vintage Dolce & Gabbana pants in a tiny store close to Marist, in Poughkeepsie NY. I know, I couldn't believe it either.  I know its only May 4th, but I really cant wait for fall.

Kanye for Celine at Coachella

This past weekend at Coachella Music Festival, Kanye West wowed audiences. Coachella is an annual music festival in California drawing thousands of music, fashion, and photography lovers. Hundreds of fashion bloggers take this opportunity to capture amazing looks.

Kanye West performed wearing a 1970's style Celine tunic. The french brand known for their minimalist and chic fast fashion designs only for women. Heads turned when Kanye appeared on stage wearing a top from the spring 2011 collection. Is Kanye Phoebe Philo's new muse? Is there a mens line for Celine in the future? One can only hope.

Personal Style Four: Stripes for Spring

Spring is finally here. As we welcome the warm weather, we welcome fresh new looks for spring. Adding stripes is fun, and adds dimension to the mainly earth toned pallet of the outfit.

Respect Your Elders: Style Influences

Drawing inspiration from the past proves that fashion repeats itself. Men of the 1940's, 50's, and 60's refined fashion. Clean lines, simple patterns, and tailored suits reflect the attitudes and sophistication of these times. These men are some of my personal style influences.

Woody Allen, the legendary screenwriter and director is known for his quirky yet sophisticated style. A fan of chunky sweaters, tweed, corduroy, and button down shirts. Woody Allen pulls off nerdy chic effortlessly.

JFK. Our 35th president, who defined and illustrated WASP. This all American style is seasoned and timeless.

James Dean, the original bad boy. Dean perfected the white t-shirt and leather jacket look from the beginning. Sleek and smooth James Dean is undeniably cool, and makes it look easy.

Modeling Annie Colvin Designs

I was so excited to model this great look designed by freshmen designer Annie Colvin. Her nautical inspired shirt has amazing pleats with meticulous attention to detail. My favorite part? It's a toss up between the embellished buttons with anchors, or the vintage leather suspenders.

Look for more of Annie's incredible work at The Silver Needle Fashion Show, on May 5th.

Here are some of my favorite shots, taken by Danielle DeZao. Enjoy!

Silver Needle Photo Shoot

This past Tuesday I attended the studio shoot for the Silver Needle 2011 Look Book. The shoot was held at Bump Image Studios, and shot by photographer Michael Polito. The studio dates back to the early 1900's and once was home to a fabric bleaching factory. The space was truly amazing, and offered incredible lighting.

Here are some photos that my dear friend Danielle DeZao, and myself snapped through out the day. Enjoy.

All garments are designed and constructed by Marist College students.
All models are also students.
